Gold Squad Programme

While the The GIIS Sports Excellence Programme provides all GIIS students with an opportunity to participate in sports as Extracurricular Activities (ECA’s), students who demonstrate strong athletic potential may be eligible for selection to the GIIS Gold Squad Programme.

About the Gold Squad Programme

Designed to identify, develop and hone athletic talent among students, the GIIS Gold Squad Programme offers specialised training to students, as well as the platform to showcase their skills by representing GIIS in intra- and inter-school matches and tournaments at both the national and international level.

Participation in the Gold Squad Programme stems from a natural progression starting with our ECA’s, where beginners are introduced to quality athletic training with a focus on teamwork and the spirit of sportsmanship. The Gold Squad Programme selection process is based on two main factors: performance in ECA’s and previous achievements.
